PWA Colgate World Cup Sylt 2006

pwa-sylt-2.jpg Micah Buzianis (US-34 JP / NeilPryde) was proclaimed winner of the event being the most consistent in the waters of Sylt. Antoine Albeau (F-192 Starboard / NeilPryde) has been crowned world champion in Slalom 42 being the grand master of the discipline throughout the season.
pwa-sylt-1.jpg In freestyle mode, Jose Estredo (V-1, Fanatic / North) made history by becoming the youngest champion in the history of the PWA. The absence of waves also prevented the wave of the title dispute, the champion will be decided in early November at the Aloha Classic.


Slalom 42

This year's event Sylt has surpassed all records in terms of influx of viewers thanks to the mild and sunny weather. The changing light wind and tested technique of the sailors.

Freestyle

Breezes during the event were not enough to launch the competition and therefore results were not counting towards the tour. However, the fleet made a freestyle session in which the judges scored the best maneuver. The winner was Jose Estredo followed by Thomas Traversa (F-3, Tabou / Gaastra) and Kiri Thode (NB-61 Gaastra / Starboard).

Thus Jose Estredo proclaimed freestyle world champion 2006. Gollito, with only 17 years is the youngest champion in the history of the PWA.

Surf

The waves were present in Sylt and therefore could not enter the competition. The ranking remains the same while waiting for the last competition in early November in Hawaii.
