Jaws Chronicle Cup 2005
Building a crack developed in the timing circuit Windsurfing Murciano, the last weekend in May was held at the Club Nautico Mar Menor in Los Alcazares, Murcia, the first test does not count for the regional circuit funboard: Jaws Cup 2005.
With the support of various organizations and institutions, including the Hon. City of Los Alcazares, sponsorship Store Shop Jaws, NCTM collaboration and complicity of F4-F5 lift over the two days, were able to complete eight slalom sleeves, two long distances and the semifinals of Super X ...
Day 1, Saturday May 28
From early morning a lift (ENE) sunny about 15 knots on average predicted a good day of sailing. While enrollments are falling with the wind increases dropper, so it was decided to set up a downwind slalom course with arrival by the club himself, allowing viewers to observe the course of the race clearly. At the same time, the organizers prepared beacons (homebuilt) for the discipline of Super X, if the release was increasing in intensity. After the meeting relevant standards and under the close supervision and control of the regional secretary John Cañavate begin to fight over the sleeves of slalom to complete five series, and where the "pro" local Oscar Alcaraz showed an absolute supremacy over the rest. In the fight for second place to note the fight between Jose Pedro Barceló and David Joy (which was decanted, on this first day, for the first). Also emphasize the presence in the first windsurfer fleet Tanzanian possibly participate in a race for this latitude. Realising close the slalom, was prepared long distance race, riding a beacon from the coast and turning out from the shore. In this test a good start was essential, performing two rounds with wins spread: one for Oscar and another for José Pedro. After a break the lift remained stable, therefore it was decided to prepare the test of super X-sets of four runners, and where he completed the semifinals (rising Oscar and David with victories in each of them), unfortunately that time the low wind intensity and the test could not be concluded. After that was closed a busy day was complete and successful that night with a great barbecue courtesy of the Club. Finally and for the survivors, Varazú topped the day, a local pub, where between drinks and the occasional tequila the organization also maintained a high level but that repercutiese in its results a day later.
Day 2, Sunday May 29
While I was blowing up early, most participants soon appeared (part mention to Pedro Martinez, who slept in his van in the same dock of the Club and of course was the first to make an appearance); for this reason and because the wind began to slack off, only had time to do three slaloms, this time running the classic eight with only two buoys, and where Oscar Alcaraz again proved their dominance with three wins followed by David Joy, who three seconds and thanks to aupaba discards the second place overall in the slalom, José Pedro Barceló relegating the third. The fourth and amazing place, after a magnificent second day was for Jaime Bernardeau, taking advantage of the aftermath of one of the competitors allowed to be placed in the top group. Finally, and using the leftovers from last night and the laziness of the wind-prepared a barbecue lunch, prior to the awards ceremony, served as the perfect closing weekend. Of that award means that a part of trophies for each of the disciplines and the top finishers overall, and thanks to the store Jaws, there were numerous gifts for participants and glasses gift for the winner Oakley brand.
Jaws Cup 2005 achieved its objectives, be a race open to all regardless of their level windsurfers, which serve as a catalyst in an area that has many fans but widely scattered in the various beaches of the region and to serve as a trigger for future similar proposals.
