The PWA, Professional Windsurfers Association, just to present the provisional calendar for 2008. The circuit tell windsurfing world championship in 2008 with 13 events. In each of these events are played one or more modalities. For slalom, 7 tests are maintained year. The novelty is a new surf event for women in El Medano, Tenerife. Read more »
DrivenbyWind: speed new event

The speed veteran Dave White will host an event to try and beat the world record for speed sailing. The target date for the competition is January 14 in Southend-on-Sea in the southeast of England. The spot, called The Ray, is a large sandbar length at the mouth of a river and is only usable at low tide. Read more »

Almerimar Championship - Funboard National Tour 2008

The Windsurfing Club Mar Azul, El Ejido (Almería), retrieves the mythical race of the supported Culoperro Hotel AR Almerimar. From 2 to January 5, 2008 the beach of "El Ejido" will host the first round of National Funboard Circuit RFEV, scoring for the Championship of Spain Funboard. The conditions of competition are Wave and Slalom (categories: Absolute youth, master and females). Read more »
Calendar Freestyle Pro Tour 2008

Harry and Mike Pichura Schaffrian, the organizers of the European Freestyle Pro Tour, just presented 2008 calendar: "After a good season in 2007 we were able to improve the Tour again. We not only have a greater number of events we have also increased the prize money. For 2008 there are 11 events scheduled and only one of them is 5000 €. All other events have higher cash prizes. Masters of Speed, November 21, 2007
The wind blew stronger early in the afternoon with an average of 35/40 knots and some higher gusts. Patrik Diethelm set a new world speed record for serial boards, 44.71 knots with his F2 Missile XS and Antoine Albeau France broke the record with a speed of 46.55 knots. Read more »
