Antxón has achieved European success in recent years winning multiple tests, but the irregularity prevented him from reaching the top spot in the rankings in previous years. It seems that this year finally results have rewarded his dedication on the European circuit.
This 2008, the rider of Lanzarote started strong with a third place in Tarifa and after winning both events later was second and fourth in Podersdorf it was a combined test of the PWA and TVET, the first rider of the European classification!
This is an amazing result and taking into account the high level of TVET, most riders which also participate in the World Cup.

Congratulations Antxón!

rsx-tom-ashley-gold-medal.jpg In a race for medals shortened by a wind shift of 90 degrees, Tom Ashley won the gold medal after finishing in third place.

The one lap sprint was won by King Yin Chan (HKG) Zubari Shahar (ISR) in second place. This was enough to skip to Nick Dempsey (GBR) and bronze medal just behind Julien Bontemps (FRA), who won silver.

While not wanting to pour a bucket of cold water on what has been a fantastic first Games for the RS: X, where the three winners came virtually to the race for the Medals to the same location, there will inevitably be questions about the effectiveness of the concept of thereof.
