Fuerteventura PWA Slalom 42 World Cup 2005 - Day 7

Buzianis wins the battle of nerves whilst Jaggi shows Ghibaudo to how.

He resumed racing Slalom 42 with the 5th round of the men. Micah Buzianis (F2, North) slightly surpassed Bjorn Dunkerbeck (North), so that the two had a lot of pressure ahead of Antoine Albeau (Neil Pryde) who was third.

In the first semifinal Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (F2, Neil Pryde) made a very good start and was put first, but again fell into the buoy fucking Kevin Pritchard the lead, followed by Dunkerbeck, Arnon Dagan (Fanatic, Neil Pryde) and Albeau until the end of the sleeve.

In the second semifinal saw a confident Buzianis out first followed closely by Finian Maynard (F2, Naish) who could not reach the speed of the Americas. Steve Allen (Fanatic, Neil Pryde) went to Maynard, but then fell into the buoy, and Buzianis had opened a good gap to follow the rest of the manga very relaxed. When the American crossed the finish line, there was a whole stretch of difference Maynard, with Cyril Moussilmani (Fanatic) right behind him.

After a pause and rolled several wind weather, the finals began. The male end of losers was led by Patrick Diethelm (F2, North), which showed excellent speed in choppy conditions, being first, second Allen, Ben Van der Steen (Neil Pryde) in third and fourth Costa Hoevel.

The final of the men promised much excitement, with Buzianis and Dunkerbeck in fierce fighting for the title. On output, Dunkerbeck was put first, ahead of Maynard and Buzianis to the first buoy. The great speed of Dunkerbeck made to leave a little on the outside of the buoy and Buzianis happened on the inside and Maynard went to their level. With the position gained, Buzianis accelerated to maximum leaving a frustrated Dunkerbeck. In the second buoy, Buzianis held his position and opened a battle for second place between Dunkerbeck and Maynard. However, Dunkerbeck was not interested in what was happening behind him and was focused on Buzianis, leaving behind Maynard, but was not able to reach Buzianis that flew past the finish line a second time in this competition. Dunkerbeck Maynard was second and third.

In females, Valerie Ghibaudo made a premature exit and earned a break on the beach. This left the field open for Karin Jaggi (F2) and Allison Shreeve (F2, Neil Pryde) in the struggle for the sleeve. Shreeve Jaggi won and finished second.

Round 9 of the women offered a new opportunity for Ghibaudo, who was lost at times his hopes of victory. Shreeve came first, but was overtaken by Jaggi and Ghibaudo in the first buoy. Jaggi finished first followed by Ghibaudo, with Verena Fauster (F2, Gaastra) third to take advantage of errors Shreeve.
