The Tack with short board
The turn is very easy and then he grabs the trick. Very small scratches and material things change and can become a pretty radical move, but when you get out a few times and leave you all (or almost).
First considerations
The most important of the tack is to have clear steps in the head and then, when to take them out, make them without hesitation. The good thing is that if you tack it firmly, without hesitation, leaves ... if you stop to think about half of the maneuver, you fall fixed.
Steps
1. We began with a tight sharp tack upwind.
2. When we see that the table can not turn over, or rather, a moment before you realize it, we place the front foot in front of the mast foot. The rear is accompanied by some placing it between the front and footstrap mast foot.
3. At this moment we can say that the front foot is virtually across the table.
4. The critical time of the maneuver, changing body, is made with the decision, even taking a small jump. This is the time when the tack comes out or not ... you can not get half. There is only one trick, decision. And do not care if you fall at first when trying to change the body, the trick is to go pillándole the timing until you know that when you fall and why.
5. The position of the hands: the sleight of hand is also very important at the turn and may be the key to exit or not. Once started the sack tied at the back hand intersects the front and grab the boom as far forward as possible, even noting the head of it.
At this point there are 2 options, with the other hand (now back), or pick up the mast to help change the body (pivoting on), or (which I advise) grab the boom directly on the other side , also close to the head thereof. A very important detail: to grab the boom directly on the other hand is very important that the hand when they cross back and pass as far forward as possible, stick a small pull (toward the bow of the table) for the candle change of tack. It's hard to explain but it is logical, is something that is sometimes done unconsciously.
6. Once the rig in the new direction, there is only put the weight back, open sailing and long to start planning again.
Most important is the decision to sack it, especially the change of the body in the table.
And that's it, with a little practice the tack out, and when you take 2 or 3 in a row and not fail. The turn is a maneuver aesthetic and very practical, because you always want to beat and can take more than a pinch (for example, turn to an insurmountable bar foam to prevent getting caught).
