Lanzarote Costa Teguise PWA Grand Slam 2005 - Day 4

In a day full of action and drama, Matt Pritchard (US-10, Tabou / Gaastra) is done with the overall title in this last test SuperX in Lanzarote Costa Teguise PWA Grand Slam 2005. The American is ensured his second title of SuperX. Karin Jaggi win the SuperX in Lanzarote, which means it is the first SuperX world champion as this is the first year of this modality for females.

The conditions were perfect for this final day of competition of Super X. Winds of 20 knots and a swell constant increasing progressively offered a perfect setting for the final.

The first end of the day involved Taboulet Julien (F-100, JP / Neil Pryde), Taty Frans (NB-9, Starboard / MauiSails), Josh Angulo (US-11), Robby Swift (K-89, JP / Neil Pryde), Remko de Weerd (H-23, Fanatic / Gaastra), Peter Volwater (H-24, F2), Diony Guadagnino (V-69, Neil Pryde), Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails), Nik Baker (K-66, Mistral / North) and Ricardo Campello (V-111, JP / Neil Pryde). The final of the women was between Junko Nagoshi (J-11), Daida Moreno (E-64, Mistral / North), Astrid Muldoon (F-2, JP / Neil Pryde), Uli Hoelzl (AUT-123, F2 / Neil Pryde), Frida Wiraeus (S-93), Nayra Alonso (E-4, Fanatic / Severne), Karin Jaggi (Z-14, F2), Femke van der Valk (NB-05, F2), Silvia Alba (E- 67, Tabou / Gaastra) and Yolanda Freites of Brend (V-26, Fanatic / North).

In the first jump, Nayra Alonso hit the sausage and fell. Daida Moreno jumped well and took the lead followed by Jaggi, Nagoshi, van der Valk and Hoelzl. Silvia Alba also beat Nagoshi, which was recovered and finished fourth, followed by Astrid Muldoon. Karin Jaggi is well after the first woman to win a world title in PWA SuperX mode, earning the title of Lanzarote SuperX.

Taking stock of the results of the Super X PWA Costa Teguise Lanzarote Grand Slam 2005, the title goes to Matt Pritchard (US-10, Tabou / Gaastra), second Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails) and third Nik Baker ( K-66, Mistral / North). This means that Matt Pritchard (US-10, Tabou / Gaastra) makes his second world title in this category, with Cyril Moussilmani (F-71, Fanatic) and Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails) sharing the second place, Robby Swift (K-89, JP / Neil Pryde) fourth and Nik Baker (K-66, Mistral / North) fifth overall.

In the women, Karin Jaggi (Z-14, F2) wins the Lanzarote Costa Teguise PWA Grand Slam 2005 Super X before Junko Nagoshi (J-11), Daida Moreno (E-64, Mistral / North), Iballa Moreno (E-63, Mistral / North) and Silvia Alba (E-67, Tabou / Gaastra). That being the only event of SuperX paa women in 2005, the overall results are the same, being Karin Jaggi (Z-14, F2) the first woman champion SuperX.
