Nivea World Cup Sylt PWA 2005 - Day 4
Micah Buzianis (USA-34, F2 / North Sails) and Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails) win rounds 5 and 6 respectively.
The fourth day of competition at the Nivea World Cup Sylt 2005 was somewhat inconsistent. With winds varying in strength and direction and time changing from sun to cloudy with heavy rain, it took all day to make 2 rounds Slalom 42.
In the morning, it seemed it would be another good day, but just when the riders were ready to make the first race the wind disappeared canceling the race until the wind rise again. After an hour, we decided to perform the manga, but many of the windsurfers failed to stop or finish the wind again. Then began the second set but was canceled, so the 2 sleeves had to be performed again later.
An hour later, there was heavy rain and the wind rose. Again he got out but did not last anything and was canceled again. At 14:00 they decided to try again, but again for the fourth time and had to cancel the first round. Half an hour later, was the second leg of the round 5 followed by the repetition of the first race that was canceled again.
After this variable period, conditions improved and were able to complete all the rounds until the end of round 5. The worst fate that had been Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails) and Bjorn Dunkerbeck (E-11, North Sails) puedieron not meddle in the last 10 that they would be the final.
In the end, it was Micah Buzianis (USA-34, F2 / North Sails) who dominated. Antoine Albeau (F-192, Neil Pryde) was out to break his neck, leaving the way clear for Buzianis. Cyril Moussilmani (F-71, Fanatic) finished second and Volwater (H-24, F2) third ahead of compatriot Pieter Bijl (NED-0, Fanatic / Neil Pryde) and Arnon Dagan (ISR-1, Fanatic / Neil Pryde .)
The round number 6 was played with steady winds of 12 to 17 knots. The sleeves were disputing one after another until you reach the final. In it, Kevin Pritchard (US-3, Starboard / MauiSails) took the lead at the first mark followed by Pieter Bijl (NED-0, Fanatic / Neil Pryde) and Bjorn Dunkerbeck (E-11, North Sails). Bijl breaks a harness and fall out, allowing Dunkerbeck stick to Pritchard along with Antoine Albeau (F-192, Neil Pryde). In the fourth buoy, Dunkerbeck failed to work out the plan, seeing Albeau and Micah Buzianis (USA-34, F2 / North Sails) and exceeded it. At the end Pritchard hata kept the first place finish, ahead of Albeau, Buzianis, Dunkerbeck and Steve Allen (AUS-0, Fanatic / Neil Pryde). Local hero Bernd Flessner (G-16, F2 / Neil Pryde) was forced to withdraw to break the mast.
After 2 days of Slalom 42 action, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (E-11, North Sails) is still the leader and Antoine Albeau (F-192, Neil Pryde) in second place followed by Micah Buzianis (USA-34, F2 / North Sails). This only just begun ... the next test, the waves.
