SOS SURF BARCELONA - Protection from the beaches of Barcelona
SURF CATALAN ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES AN ACT OF PROTEST AGAINST THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE FUTURE WAVES ON THE BEACHES OF BARCELONA
As you know, the ACS has undertaken several actions to try to persuade politicians to amend the proposed breakwaters to protect the beaches of Barcelona. This amendment would permit further surfing at some point. Although the politicians we have received so far have made no explicit gesture of commitment.
The main reason we do not hear is that they think are few and poorly organized. Are they right?
We have to show THAT WE ARE NOT JUST
And for that we call on all who catch waves and board, bodyboard, kayak, windsurfing, swimming or just with your eyes, from the shore, enjoying the waves breaking on the sea.
Date: Sunday, March 12, 2006, from 11:00 to 13:00
Place: the beach of Barceloneta (metal sculpture of cubes)
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be activities, first in the sand, and then into the water. So please come with:
1. boards, bodyboards, truck tires or any other floating object.
2. wetsuits.
3. many companions as you like, go into the water or not.

The Catalan Association of Surfing is a non-profit association, formed in late 2001 and registered under number 25,858 in the Registry Section 1 No. 1 of Barcelona.
