Please find below news on the 2010 series Point-7 masts.

When Point-7 brought out the first all black sail, the AC-1 2007 it was in many people’s eyes done for optical reasons only. Not many understood or believed in the UV resistant qualities of the metalized material.

However almost 3 years later seeing a black sail has become the synonymous with seeing a Point-7 sail and people know the qualities of the monofilm.

In 2010 Point-7 has once again been playing with colours, but again there is a thought behind the idea.

The new C100+ and C80+ masts have been upgraded in their construction, by adding an extra layer of carbon in the top section of the mast, resulting in a faster reflex. But more notable to the eye is the orange coating of the masts.

The lower mast half has been given an orange polyamide coating. This coating protects the mast better against accidental impact, UV and cambers abrasion.

In the boom area of the mast there is added a thin anti slip coating, securing your boom from sliding down the mast whilst sailing.

Why orange? So that it will be easy to find between your gear, and because it’s a dark enough colour to protect the underneath carbon from UV rays.

This new innovation is why the C100+ and C80+ now have had a plus added to their names!
