Levi Siver wins at the 2014 AWT Pistol River Wave Bash
Day three at the 2014 AWT Pistol River Wave Bash will go down as one of the most impressive contest days the US west coast has ever seen. The action across all divisions was intense and fiercely competitive with the wind gusting over 30-knots and sets rolling in constantly in the head-to-logo-high range. It was simply amazing.
Pro Podium:
1. Levi Siver
2. Marcilio Browne
3. Camille Juban
Quote from Head Judge Chris Freeman:
«Wild action, massive crashes, destroyed equipment and a whole lot of fun! With the wind up and the waves down a little, it was back to Pistol River for the conclusion of the heats. The highlight for me this week was watching the Amateurs pushing their limits every day. To see riders improve with each session is so rewarding and fundamental to the aims of the AWT. Hats off to all those who challenged the status quo. Heat of the day for me was the first Pro semi-final, possibly the most amazing AWT heat I have ever watched. Thank you for making judging so tough and so much fun!”—Chris Freeman / AWT Head Judge
Women’s Division: The level in this division keeps increasing year after year. Last year’s battle between Ingrid Larouche and Fiona Wylde has now expanded with Sarah Hauser upping her game and Carolina Butrich and Sam Bittner not far behind. This year it was also great to see Roz Thomson and Rhonda Gill join in on the action and fun, as this division is truly a driving force behind the spirit of the AWT.
