Martin Van Meurs Breaks 50 Knots on a Production Naish Speed Pro 60!
Training at West Kirby in the south of England and riding a production Naish speed board, Martin Van Meurs has recorded the fastest windsurfing GPS speed to date (50.4 Kts!) as well as averaging 47 kts over a 500 meter course.
Martin commented: “Fifty has finally been broken, if only for a short distance. After just missing the magic barrier in West Kirby earlier this year I knew it would be possible to perhaps even go for 50 over 500 on this magnificent board. All my training days came together in the couple of seconds that it took to get up to and over 50 knots. This is the second time the Speed Pro showed it’s full potential to me and I feel I’m ready to fight for the honors in the official Ray attempt from January 14, 2008 onward. I hope I will be able to deliver the goods and get the Naish logo up the podium!”
Congratulations from the Naish Team!
